Summer Series 2021 features a collaboration with Composer-in-Residence L.V. Wood. Her stunning modern oratorio for orchestra, soloists, and choir is the centerpiece of our program. The work is a beautiful, nuanced reflection on the myriad ways our lives are interwoven with fossil products and the challenges ahead of us as we face the consequences of global climate devastation.

In true celebratory style, we are going larger than ever! We will have ten of the finest instrumentalists in Kansas City join us in the orchestra, and we will offer two chances for you to experience this work in the gorgeous sanctuary of St. John’s United Methodist Church on Ward Parkway. In addition, you will get to hear works by our own Dakota Hayton, as well as composers Philip Riegle, Matthew Donnelly, and Ola Gjeilo.
